Michelle Gillis

Michelle retired in September 2022 after working for 33 years in the accounting profession. During the 25 years that she was at KPMG in the UK, a Global Big 4 Accounting firm, she served on the Firm Executive as Head of People, setting and executing the people strategy for this >$2bn business, and as Head of Tax & Legal Services, leading this $0.5bn, 2,500 firm practice.

Outside of work Michelle proudly served as a Trustee and Board member of Tower Hamlets Education and Business Partnership for almost 10 years, supporting under privileged school children in the most deprived parts of the Borough of Tower Hamlets in East London.

In her retirement, Michelle is providing Client Engagement and Development Services to her former employer and a small number of other organizations. Michelle is currently serving on the Board of Trustees at STC – the Shakespeare Theatre Company in Washington DC - and at Severn Leadership Group.

Michelle is married with four grown up step children. She lives with her husband, Tim, in North Virginia and they split their time between there and their homes in the South East of England and the South West of Ireland. In her spare time, she enjoys long distance running, dance fitness, playing piano, golf and she is learning to speak Irish.
