Mike Murphy

Mike has been a volunteer with SLG since 2019. He has served as a mentor, EQ-i coach, co-facilitator and recently certified and a Program Manager.

Mike completed a 44-year career in independent and international school education in 2020. He served for eight years as the Headmaster at Pace Academy in Atlanta and most recently, 15 years as the Head of School at Shorecrest Preparatory School in St. Petersburg, Florida. During his career Mike served on the board of the Southern Association of Independent Schools and the Florida Council of Independent Schools. He developed an expertise in accreditation.

Mike joined Educational Directions in June of 2020. He assists independent schools with searches for Heads of School and other senior administrative positions.  Mike also serves on the Board of Trustees at The Vanguard School in Lake Wales, Florida.

Mike and his wife Robin live in St. Petersburg, Florida. They have 3 sons and one granddaughter.
