Custom Workshops for Teams and Organizations

A Custom Workshop gives your team a focused introduction to Virtuous Leadership, built around a specific moment: an offsite or retreat, a topic your organization is navigating, or a desired team mindset and leadership shift.

Workshop Topics

These are our most common workshop topics. We continually expand the catalog and partner with an organization’s own leadership development effort to build custom sessions.

01

Portrait of a Virtuous Leadership Team

Dive into the five essential character virtues, Love, Integrity, Truth, Excellence, and Relationships, that every leader and follower needs to bring their best, authentic self wherever they serve. We will identify specific behaviors you can model to align yourself with the five transcendent virtues and transform your leadership and followership journey. You will learn how to use the SLG Virtue Self-Assessment to move your team toward excellence. This session challenges participants to think deeply about why cultivating a culture of character begins with the leader but is never about the leader. A case study gives participants the opportunity to visualize how a Portrait of a Virtuous Leadership Team can help leaders stay focused on their organization’s mission and goals.

02

Meaningful Feedback: The Key to Superior Team Performance

Feedback is critical to creating and sustaining healthy teams and organizations. Participants begin by understanding their relationship with receiving feedback, prepare to give feedback, practice a simple model for giving it, and take away the post-feedback steps that make feedback part of their leadership practice.

03

Understanding Your Emotional Intelligence (EQ)

What is emotional intelligence, and why should every leader understand their own EQ and the EQ of their teammates? Participants take an EQ self-assessment and learn how to use it in everyday scenarios to become better leaders and support organizational excellence.

04

Deep Listening

Explore the art of listening in this hands-on workshop. Participants move from subjective to deep listening through examples and group exercises that build trust and motivate others.

05

Asking Powerful Questions

Powerful questions are key to understanding others. Leaders who use them help others deepen their understanding, build confidence, and find solutions. Learn the practical techniques that amplify your leadership and mentorship.

06

Turning Negativity Into Problem-Solving

Negativity can kill a team’s momentum and impede innovative thinking. Participants learn how to transform a team member’s negativity into fuel for problem-solving, and practice the skill with other learners.

07

Developing High-Performance Teams

Leaders learn to recognize the signs of an unhealthy environment and take the actions that create a healthy, virtuous team. They also come away understanding what contributes to a team identity, and how to create and cultivate it continually.

Have a Specific Challenge Facing Your Organization?

If your organization is facing something more specific than a general leadership gap, tell us about it. We design workshops around real, current organizational challenges as often as we run the topics above. Our workshops and certified mentorship model set us apart in supporting topics such as succession, employee engagement, and shared accountability and commitment to excellence, among others.

I really enjoyed the feedback workshop. I am in the process of gathering feedback for a pilot program I am working on, so the timing of this workshop was perfect. I learned a lot and can actively apply it right now. I also enjoyed listening and learning from the participants.
